Prices Statistics                                                               Pictures of Montenegro 

Retail prices in Montenegro are monitored in four towns: Podgorica,
Niksic, Kotor and Pljevlja.The List of Products and Services contains
382 items where 320 are products and 62 services.The List of Consumer
Prices contains 303 products and 62 services which makes 365 items.
Prices are monitored on monthly basis. Indices of retail and consumer
prices are made on the basis of these monitored prices. Indices of
prices are weighted by structure of value of products and services,
while indices of consumer prices are weighted on the basis of survey
on income and expenditures of households. Indices are produced monthly.
Annual index is cumulative.

Retail prices in 2004, compared to 2003 increased 3.4%.
Monitoring the increase according to product groups and services, the
highest increase in 2004 was in services 8.2%, prices of industrial products
totally 2.8% and beverages 1.5%, while prices of agricultural products were
5% lower.

Costs of living in 2004, compared to 2003, increased 2.4%. The
highest increase in 2004 was in expenditures for dwelling 7% and
traffic and Post service 6.1%, clothes and footware 5.9%, culture
and entertainment 5.5%, hygiene and health 2.2%, housing 1.3 %,
