Bar is a coastal town. It has a population of 17,727 (2011 census). Bar is the centre of municipality and a major seaport of Montenegro. In Montenegrin and Serbian, the town is known as Bar ; in Italian as Antivari or Antibari; in Albanian as Tivari; in Greek as Antivari, or Antivรกrion; and in Latin as Antibarium. The name of this city is connected to Bari, Italy as those cities are located on the opposite side of Adriatic sea.
